The Reef… is not just a pretty face
Nestled opposite the sparkling Wallis Lake, the Reef not only offers the most idyllic location in town, it delivers exquisite gourmet cuisine inspired by modern Australian and European influences. We have created a haven for good food, good drinks and good times that will see you sipping ronnies or craft beers at our indoor/ outdoor bar and relaxing with friends as you watch the stunning sunsets.
Our menu aims to take you on a food journey using the finest local produce from Wallis Lake oysters to Wingham’s grass fed beef. We believe in delivering succulent, mouth-watering and innovative meals that are created and delicately prepared by our team and Head Chef.
Owned and operated by long time locals Joni and Darren (Doogs) McDonagh, the pair had a vision to create a restaurant that paid homage to Joni’s European background and make locals and visitors feel at home. They later discovered Danish born and classically French trained Head Chef Peter Tjorneland who transformed their vision into reality and the Reef (formerly known as the Reef Bar and Grill) flourished into what you experience today.
